WA $30,000 Goldrush Super Sedan Hammerdown Invitational

In a massive show of support mining giant Barrick Kanowna have put their financial & corporate support behind the inaugural $30,000 Goldrush Hammerdown Invitational for Super Sedans in March this year.

When the Hammerdown group approached the Barrick group they welcomed us with open arms and looked towards the future of WA Super Sedan racing as well as the future with employment with in their industry.

The Goldrush Hammerdown committee have received massive support from the corporate & speedway world and already made commitment to a 5 year plan in turning this race into one of Australia's greatest & richest Super Sedan events.

With local names as WA State Champion Robbie Bawdon, Trevor Bayle from Esperance Kemble Aylett, Vosbergen, Higgs, Shore, Musarra & Giancola already nominated it was only time before some of Australia's hottest talents would sign up for this great event.

4 time Victorian champion "The Big Dog" Lucas Roberts has already made a serious plan to win this first big Hammerdown event and will be making the trek across the nullaboar to Esperance & Kalgoorlie Speedways on March 28 & 29th 2008.

Other big east coast names on board are Victorian Ash Bergmier, Queensland Hot shoe Darren Kane, and with other interest from SA Dave gartner & Dan Miller this is sure to be a hard fought race event.

The Hammerdown is based on a party atmosphere event and will feature some extra activities as well as hard fast Super Sedan racing. On the Thursday teams are invited for a fishing trip off the coast of Esperance for a day of BBQ fun and serious fishing stories, on the Thursday night teams can attend a function in the Esperance town for a meet & greet session of all teams & locals.

Plans are under way to raise the race purses for the two nights of Super Sedan action up to $3000 to win in Esperance & $5000 to win night 2 at Kalgoorlie International Speedway.

Another great prize for the teams will be 4 x 80 litre eskys that will have the HAMMERDOWN logo attached, a great prize for the team transporter.

With other great awards from Ian Boetcher Racecars, Speedway Autos, AFCO Shock Doctor & American Racer this is surely going to be an event worth making the trip for.
