From one of the guys who arranged the show I would firstly like to thank the sponsors & tracks for getting the event up and happening, without them the vision would have stayed a dream. Secondly to DK as the inaugural champ Well done mate. To the Big Dog, Paddy Ward, Dave Gartner, Dan Miller and the two young guns Lachlan and Ash THANKS for making the trek across the country to support the Inaugural East meets West challenge and yes I know the score card reads EAST 1 WEST 0 but we will change that next year. The WA contingent that turned up and raced, THANKS fellas! The paying public who turned up in droves at Esperance and supported Kalgoorlie equally as well THANKS also.
This whole deal for those that don't know was concieved in the back of a transporter parked at Margaret River a little over two months ago and Brian "Bear" Chalmers took the idea and worked his A#@E off to turn it into not only a two night race deal but a fun few days of fishing, partying and yes Racing! Thank mate
To Neil Sayer from Speedway Sedans Australia who helped out by providing the tranponders and timing equipment "thanks"
Thanks Wes for the showmanship, commentry and getting the crowd involved. See you next year
Nest year will be bigger and better and we already have 11 eastern states drivers that will be back. F Bawdon |

Hi everyone...I'm currently at Melbourne Airport on my long journey home.(3 different planes, bad food and no sleep...but who cares)
What a great few days...
There were many highlights, for me, but none bigger than the sportmanship shown between Keith Higgs and Darren Kane....these guys won the crowd over by being the true proffessional they are....
Thanks to everyone I met, as you made me feel so welcome in WA.
To Bear, Frank, and Balesy...thanks for letting me be apart of this fantastic experience... Wes Beadman |

G'day just got back this arvo and thought it fitting to say what a great week we had at the Hammerdown, and take the time to thank those who made it possible. Being part of the maulers team we were honoured to take part in the inaugrual running of the event.
It was refreshing to go to a event where ever one involved had such a positive vibe on the event, eveyone involved from promotions to the media to the sponsers to the tracks and there clubs and the competitors (both WA and interstate) all had one goal in mind and that was to put the best show possible for the fans.
Everyone played their part. Bear and his team with their constant promotions in both towns on tv, print and radio, the tracks and their clubs for there overwhelming hospitality and for giving us two kick **** race tracks and to the drivers for providing non stop entertainment from the first heat at Esperance to the final at Kal sat night.
Like I said this event for us had nothing but positives there was no politics,no pesonal agendas being pushed all people involved were there for sport.
So from all at the kennel we would like to thank Bear and his team at BCM, Trevor and Scott Bale, Don and his team at the Esperance track, even Stan with his blower vac, Sean and Pete of Black Jack charters(it wasn't all about the fishing luckily), Kerry the Canadian and a personal thanks to the staff of the pier hotel. The club and track crew at Kal. Also a very special thanks to Frank, Rob and Corey Bawdon for their support of the event and for their particular support from all their family and crew, at their workshop, the track or supplying lunch nothing was too much trouble.
Thankyou all, like i said after a great week I felt compelled to put this on here amongst all the negatives you see on this site to let everyone know it is not all doom and gloom in super sedans and great events like the Hammerdown remind us why we love it.
So on behalf of Lucas, Garry and myself thanks to the organisers competitors and fans it was awesome. Reidy |
